Love this app!! A brilliant idea that is expertly executed, I love what Timeline has done to both news and history. If I could give a bit of feedback, there are a few things that would really improve my experience. First of all, some way of distinguishing what Ive read from what I havent would be nice. It can get annoying scrolling through articles Ive already read just to find new content. If also like to see a "back" button included, for when I follow the links embedded in the article to further links. I dont necessarily want to go straight back to timeline. Lastly, app functionality of your great "today in history" would be lovely! Thanks!

From the copy in the description, it would suggest at this app takes articles that you read and finds related articles going backwards in time to give you a sense of perspective. That is not what this app does. There is no ability to customize, select topics, and the app does absolutely nothing to create a sense of perspective. What this really is is a collection of poorly written, immaturely worded, and completely leftist articles written by unknown authors, very similar to what you might see in the Huffington post or salon magazine. The previous commenter said that it was anti-semetic, however that is not really true. I am Catholic and I found it to be anti-Catholic. If youre capitalist you will find it to be anti-capitalist. I imagine that the reviewer was commenting on the fact that there is an article on the front page rabidly in support of the Palestinian people. But on the front page, there are five or six articles there all of which have the most generic, college, left-wing positions on any topic you can think of. For example, there is an anti-gun ownership article right on the front page next to the anti-Israel articles. Basically, again, this is nothing but a handful of really cheesy left-wing articles with no customization and absolutely no data collection or searching or story matching going on at all. Its just a poorly written, college level, left-wing rag in app form.

The writers have 2 problems: they aim for an "engaging" tone that only serves to introduce and reinforce their biases (what happened to bias-free news?) Second, their articles are not well researched at all and full of inaccuracies. This app is not for intellectuals.

** only technical gripe: I would love to rotate the screen to see the landscape pictures in landscape mode. This is my personally most-recommended app. The content they come out with is always great, always interesting and I always learn new things! The bite-sized format sometimes lends itself to providing too little information at critical times, and could use more context sometimes, but its a unique way to frame and explain relevant news in an efficient and quick way. They also fixed a bunch of crashes, so now it works wonderfully. I coaxed a lot of friends and family to download Timeline too, and it consistently makes for great conversation. Timeline doesnt seem to be coming out with as much content as in recent months... but its also a free app and free content, so its hard to complain. Especially when its awfully good. Bonus: I noticed they finally have a website with timeline content too. Its not the worlds best site, and its hard to find but at least its online!

Timeline covers a wide variety of topics in their articles. This is one of my favorite apps.

I love the way this app puts todays headlines and issues into a brief historical context. Its fascinating reading. But the app crashes so often that I am terribly frustrated!

Biased and political. Obviously someones pet app to push their agenda. I wont be back.

Biased and has the power to not just distort current events but someones understanding of how the past shaped the present.

What appeared to be a great approach to news turns out to be Liberal biased propaganda. Democratic spun news is not on my list of things to read. Nice try though Timeline. There are other sources for unbiased, fact based news.

Its like reading a Wikipedia page specifically based around current events!

Love the app. A breath of fresh air in the world of news apps - filled with depth and surprising history.

Folks do good work.

The app is very aesthetically pleasing and runs smoothly. They only issue I have with it is 99% of the articles have some sort of liberal bias. Im not saying I want right-leaning stories, I just want unbiased information. Apparently, thats not something available these days. Ill keep the app for the rare occasion they have interesting, non-agenda driven articles.

The aesthetics of the app are great but the news stories skew mainly to the left. They need to have more balance in their choice of articles.

App layout and function is great, but thats where it ends. The news is just like the NYT, Slate, Buzzfeed, and Chinas communist controlled xinhua (peoples daily). There is no fair coverage or conservative thought. This is MSM (mainstream media) repackaged as msnbc. It was advertised as thoughtful and throughly researched media with a historic perspective. Its just communist propaganda written for demagogue leaders.

Every story has an agenda. No balance of argument. Too bad. Good concept well presented. But no integrity.
